The FireSim software simulates the EST3 network and fire / security sensor signals under instructor control. A Fireworks® Graphical User Workstation configured identically to the workstation used in the actual fire detection and security system.

The FireSim software simulates the EST3 network and detectors of a particular fire detection and security system. Simulated detector alarm, supervisory and failure conditions are communicated to the Fireworks workstation using the same RS232 serial data format as is used by the EST3 node in the actual fire detection and security system. A graphical user interface will be provided to control and monitor FireSim operation. Detector alarm, supervisory or failure conditions can be activated individually, in combination and with or without a time delay. In addition, a timed sequence of detector alarm, supervisory or failure conditions (scenario) can be created and stored for later re-use.

Configuration

The FireSim software includes an MS Access database which contains information such as fire / security detector types, location and identification. This database will be configured by reading the output of the Fireworks SDU program which is used to configure the actual (as well as the simulator) Fireworks Workstation. The SDU program has the ability to export gateway files which include identification of all devices, pseudo-points, commands, etc. that are programmed into the EST3 system. These files will be read by the FireSim™ configuration utility.

Detector / Module Status Simulation Scope

A maximum of 5 states for each detector will be simulated. These detector states can include alarm as well as supervisory and/or failure conditions.

  •     Normal
  •     Alarm
  •     Supervisory
  •     Trouble
